A lovely, detached, ground floor barn conversion located close to the River Severn between the villages of Minsterworth and Westbury-on-Severn, close to the Royal Forest of Dean. Comfortably furnished throughout, the cottage is ideal for a small family or friends. With all the accommodation being on the ground floor, this cottage has a spacious open plan living area with a vaulted ceiling and doors opening onto the rear patio. There is also a well-equipped kitchen with dining area and a comfortable sitting area with a warming woodburning stove.Outside, there is a rear patio with views over the fields beyond, where you can sit and relax with a morning coffee or dine alfresco whilst planning your activities for the next day.The thriving village of Westbury-on-Severn has an excellent pub, village store and National Trust property and there are many walks from the doorstep of the cottage, with the Gloucestershire Way and Severn Way running close by. Enjoy the many activities on offer in and around the forest, the riverside town of Gloucester, racing at Chepstow or the pretty market towns of Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth. An ideal base for exploring the area.

We only stayed a week but for us the location of Dovetail was perfect as it was only about a mile from the River Severn - ideal to see the Severn Bore. Had we stayed longer, the absence of a washing machine may have been an issue, but there really isn't room for one in the compact kitchen. There was some traffic noise, but honestly, after the first night we really didn't notice - and we live in an extremely quiet area. We had a very enjoyable stay and would stay again if we were back in the area.

.The garden was safe for our dog to run around.The road is busy but this is not too noticeable inside .It does have a pavement so you can walk the dog locally . It is a lovely area and the cottage is well placed to explore the area.

There was ample equipment for cooking and cleaning, The Kings head at birdwood has great value meals And most of all, itâs perfect, if you take your dogs as itâs completely enclosed for medium and large dogs
